Watercolour, zine-Sketchbooks of Lothian Birds is a collection of birdwatching sketches and notes made during the first few months after returning to Edinburgh. While walking around the Lothian area, I started trying to record not only the birds themselves, but also the feeling of each encounter — the weather, the movement, the waiting, and those small moments that are easy to forget afterwards.
Throughout the zine, I experimented with different storytelling and page layouts to recreate how these memories actually felt at the time, somewhere between a field notebook and a personal diary.
